We decided to try this place after seeing it recommended in several YouTube videos. We ordered the rice balls and a vegetable lasagna, which had a name similar to "moussaka." The food was tasty and very different from what we're used to. The restaurant is in a beautiful location, and the prices are affordable. Overall, we had a great experience!
Nice family running the place, the moussaka was great and filling. Like others, I recommend the cheese with honey. We were filled by the time we left! If you’re going as a couple, try to sit on the balcony for views of the Bazaar
Fabulous lunch there today! The space is charming and traditional. The food was fantastic, and the service was welcoming and helpful. Two of us shared the qifqi (rice balls), grilled vegetables, and a piping hot dish of feta with tomatoes and peppers. The 4th dish was a baked feta in a crust with honey and sesame seeds but, because I have Celiac disease, I couldn’t share. Our server spoke English and was knowledgeable about ingredients and reminded me that I couldn’t have the baked feta when she brought it to the table. I tried raki, the traditional grape brandy which was so smooth and good. My daughter had a Korça (an Albanian blond ale) and we both had espresso after our meal. We were actually stunned by how reasonable the bill was. We were expecting to pay much more because we were in the Bazaar where tourists frequent. We HIGHLY recommend Restaurant Tradicional Odaja. Please note: the restaurant is located up a steep flight of stone stairs so people with mobility issues may find it challenging, if not impossible, to dine there.
A must-try restaurant! The food in this restaurant is amazing. Love the “cheese with sesame” the most! The crispy fried dough with cottage cheese inside and sesame on top, taste like a cheese doughnut with perfect balance of salty and sweet taste, very special dish!! The restaurant is cozy and great service too. Besides the normal dining area upstairs, this restaurant also has a separate dining area with capacity around 8-10 persons, perfect for a group gathering which needs special space. It also has a small outdoor balcony with two tables (each for max 2persons), which is a cozy and chill corner able to enjoy the sunshine.
Delicious vegetarian traditional albanian food, and the restaurant looks great inside. The staff is very kind.
Oh my goodness. The only thing I can say is that the food was so delicious. We did family style and ordered several dishes so we could share them. The cheese with honey and sesame lots of good traditional food options. We had the qifqi which is fried rice balls and it was so crispy and delicious. The stuffed peppers were so yummy. The salad was good. Everything paired so well together and we had a great dining experience.
We went to this restaurant on the excellent reviews and the local cuisine was amazing. This is a family run restaurant with 3 ladies producing what I could only describe as the best home cooked food. The atmosphere is authentic and homely and the table service is excellent with advice on dish selection and quantities. We missed out on a few of the popular dishes so we went back the second night earlier to get the full selection. I can highly recommend this restaurant.
The Odaja Restaurant is more of a hidden gem. It doesn't feature a summer garden, so you must go inside. The place is small but cozy and feels very traditional. It's boosting life the minute you step in. There are barely any available seats, but the friendly staff is also quick, so the tables rotate frequently, and you shouldn't have to wait long. The beer was freezing cold - a perfect refreshment for a hot day. The meatballs with yogurt were delicious, and the cheese with honey was my absolute favorite. It's kind of savory and sweet at the same time. I'd treat it more as a dessert; it was far better than the orange cake we've tried. The Pastisio was the most disappointing, but still decent. The bill was more than reasonable. Everything adds up to a lovely experience.
